Greetings and nationality – set of activities
This link takes you to an index. Select Unit 1.
On the menu you will find here there are main sections entitled Vocabulary, Comprehension and Grammar, each with several subsections of links to a range of interactive vocabulary activities or grammar presentations and quizzes.
Start by looking at the vocabulary presentation and exercises, move on to the comprehension sections, and finally consolidate your new knowledge by working through the grammar sections before re-doing the quizzes.

Introductions and personal information – BBC interactive video
This link takes you to episode 1 of an interactive video Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy life) produced by the BBC. Click on start once the video has loaded. Choose whether to have Spanish and/or English subtitles. You can use each episode individually, however there is a story line running through the episodes. Episode 1 concentrates on introductory language. You are in control and can stop the video and repeat phrases as often as you like.

On the menu given here, you will find two particularly useful features: a link to ¿Lo sabía Ud.? audionotas culturales and a series of links under the heading ‘Flashcards'. The first brings up short audio extracts of information in Spanish featuring vocabulary from the this topic. the phrases appear in the accompanying flashcards where you can flip through a sequence of phrases and so learn vocabulary items.

An easy reader – Otto's Dream
This is the initial page for an easy reader story (about 1200 words long) called “El sueño de Otto”. It's about Otto and other students and their friendships . There is a glossary available via the Ficha Didáctica link; the Antes de leer link leads you to interactive preparatory exercises, with click-access answers ( a blue button marked S).
This reader is good for seeing personal information language in an entertaining story.

Beginners' resource and practice page – and it's fun!
This packed table of contents is designed to complement the American textbook 'En Español'. Each has Unidad and Etapa has a vocabulary list (the first link to look at and study), and several corresponding matching and hangman-style interactive activities giving practice of the vocabulary in the lists and associated grammar points. The level 3 options in the interactive activities are pretty quick and demanding.
This site may require some teacher preparation to select appropriate units and 'Etapas' for learners to try, although a selection of the best parts is available in Text-Link under appropriate subject headings. Explore and experiment – it's a goldmine, and good fun.
