On this really great revision site from the BBC you can try out some listening questions to do with family. We suggest that to begin with you just listen to the questions instead of looking at the transcript, as it'll be more of a real test of your listening skills. All of the instructions are given in English. Choose Comprehension: the family from the top of the list for a simple listening test. You can either download the MP3 file or listen to it using Real Player. Family

Spanish site for learners of French. An adult talks about her family. Clicking on the speaker icon should let you listen to the text as you read it on screen, however at the time of writing the audio was not working. When it does the speaker speaks quite clearly. This is probably best suited to able pupils who are happy to guess at the meanings of unknown words as some of the expressions and vocabulary might not be familiar to them. On the right-hand side of the page (first of the two columns) there are some pronunciation guidelines that refer to words used in the children's introductions. You can click on the speaker icon to hear particular sounds pronounced first in isolation and then in a word or words from the text. The last column contains Spanish translations for some of the French words, and so is unlikely be of interest to most pupils.
